Just burned thru all your archives. I like your heavy blacks and brushwork. Kinda like a cross between that illustrator for Samurai Shodown and department store fashion illustrations in newspapers (which is what your women look like, which is a good thing). I like your clothing/cape renders. I like the non-Jpnese influences despite the fact that you've moved to Jpn. And I like your expressive Frenchy women.
And I don't like the main character, to the point that I remain hopeful that he's not the main character. Wow, a skinhead with a bad goatee... no charisma. It'd be different if he was black and badass, or even Mongolian and badass, or Hunnish and badass... but I'm not sure if he's any at all. He reminds me of those cannon fodder soldiers of questionable ethnicity in the TV shows Hercules and Xena.
Not that you can do anything about that, since he is what he is. But ppl should be honest even while admitting they're biased.
Anyways, I'm keeping this faved. As I said, I love your heavy blacks and I love your Frenchy women (and their hair). That includes the Gypsy. Definitely reference calibur material.
Thanks for the comments Mlai,
I can't tell you what Yam does with his art I only know it always looks great!
About Malcolm(the main character) I wanted to give him a mysterious introduction which made me skimped a little on the development.
His character will be worked on in the upcoming chapter but this chapter I wanted to introduce different elements.
As for his look there's a reason why he looks like he looks and has the "generic" soldier. Don't worry he'll recieve a wardrobe update as the series progresses.
Thanks for your support and I'll be sure to check out your comic as soon as I get home...
And ofcourse thanks for your support Rikusaki(I didn't forget you :P)!
Hey everyone, thanks for your input. Actually to an amature that kind of input is really helpful so thanks.
mlai - actually this comic is 100% digital, although that isn't usual for me. When drawing on paper, yes I generally use brush pens with india ink cartridges. About Malcolm, I think it's interesting. At first (when talking to DemiLevi aka Megaman0) I agreed with you completely, because I would (and don't in my other comics) never have a main character in my stories like that. However that's what made me like it, since it was not normal for me at all and a chance for something new. It's true that he needs to be fleshed out, but I'm confident I'll figure him out sooner or later. There will be surprises to come, though I don't know them all (yes Demi hides story from me too!) so see what you think of him in a little while.
Riku - thanks to your previous comment I got in the mood to stay up late and put these out a bit faster, thanks.
