Okay, how does showing the rose-knife-things growing again (2-3 panels from end) signal "throwing knives!?" to Malcolm. It just seems kinda random.
Wouldn't it be better to show him like getting scratched by one of them, and then the roses grow back when he's blocked or cut by all of them? It would only take 1-2 extra pages, tops.
I could go on with my opinion that this superpower of organic throwing knives seems awfully useless by itself, but I'm sure the writer doesn't feel like hearing that.
